WhatsApp Catalog Product Limit: How Many Items Can You Add?
WhatsApp does not publish a product limit for the WhatsApp Business catalogue. Its help pages give limits per item: up to 10 photos or videos, and videos up to 50 MB. For most shops the real limit is time, as the app adds items one by one. For hundreds of products, use a Meta catalogue or a catalogue website.
Is there a WhatsApp catalog product limit?
We read every catalogue article in the WhatsApp Help Center on 6 October 2026. None of them gives a maximum number of products for a WhatsApp Business catalogue. You will find numbers quoted on other websites. WhatsApp itself does not publish one, so treat any number you see as a guess.
What WhatsApp does publish are the limits for each item.
| What | Limit or rule |
|---|---|
| Photos and videos per item | Up to 10 |
| Video size | Up to 50 MB |
| Item name | Must be unique. No two items with the same name. |
| Photo | At least one is required |
| Country of origin | Required on every new or edited item |
| Price | Optional. WhatsApp says prices are only available in some countries. |
What happens with a very big catalogue?
WhatsApp does not describe what happens past a certain size, because it does not set one. In practice, three things get harder as your catalogue grows.
- Adding items takes long. The app adds products one at a time. Each one needs photos, a name and a country of origin, and each one waits for review.
- Customers stop scrolling. A long list on a small phone screen is hard to browse. Without collections, a customer who wants a dining table scrolls past every sofa first.
- Saves fail more often. WhatsApp's own advice for save errors is to change one item at a time, not many at once.
What we see with real shops: a shop with 30 products can manage in the WhatsApp app. A dealer with hundreds of items often stops partway, and the catalogue shows only part of the range. Plan for how big your range really is before you start.
How to fit more products in your WhatsApp catalogue
1. Group items into collections. A collection is a group like "Sofas" or "Wall tiles". Customers open the group they want. They don't have to scroll past everything. Our guide to WhatsApp catalogue categories shows how.
2. Use one item for one design, not one per colour. If a sofa comes in five colours, list one item and add a photo of each colour. You can add up to 10 photos per item. Say the colours in the description.
3. Upload in bulk with Meta Commerce Manager. Meta's tool takes a spreadsheet of products. You then connect that catalogue to WhatsApp Business. Our bulk upload guide walks through it. Note that connecting a Meta catalogue hides the catalogue you made in the app.
4. Hide old stock instead of deleting it. Hidden items stay in your catalogue manager but customers don't see them. When the stock comes back, unhide the item instead of adding it again.
Signs you have outgrown the WhatsApp catalogue
- You keep sending single photos in chat because the catalogue isn't up to date.
- Customers ask "do you have this in other sizes?" for products that are already in your shop.
- Your newest stock is not in the catalogue because adding it takes too long.
- You want customers to find you on Google, not only inside WhatsApp.

Does a bigger catalogue need a Facebook Page?
Only if you use the bulk route. For that, WhatsApp says you need a catalogue in Meta Commerce Manager. You also need a Facebook Page linked to your WhatsApp Business account. Adding items one by one in the app does not need a Facebook Page.
One link for a range of any size
We build catalogue websites for shops with up to 300 products, and quote for bigger ranges. You send photos and price lists on WhatsApp. We sort them into categories and publish one link that opens in any phone browser. Every product also gets its own page that Google can find.
See a real one: R.S Furniture (Factory Outlet) has 30 products in 7 categories. Read how it works on our WhatsApp catalogue page, or see the plans and prices by number of products.
